Non-Flanged CD Weld Stud

A capacitor discharge (CD) Non-Flanged Weld Stud is an ideal choice for those applications that will not allow use of a flanged weld stud due to potential interference between the flange and the mated component. These weld studs are well suited for welding to sheet metal grade material. These industrial fasteners are available from JHP Fasteners in a variety of materials, dimensions, and thread sizes (inch and metric).

Application notes:
When properly welded, using the capacitance discharge method, there will be no reverse side marking. This is due to the minimal thermal impact on the material during the welding process. To achieve maximum weld performance the welding surface must be clean (no paint or coatings) and flat. Only 110v power is required for the welding process, and these non-flanged weld studs can be attached using standard CD welding equipment. The process can yield up to 20 welds per minute and effectively eliminates the need for perforation, drilling, riveting, etc.

For applications that require a non-flanged weld stud that is well suited for capacitance discharge welding, and that can be welded to sheet metal grade materials, this weld stud would be an excellent choice.
